Entrepreneur Migration

This visa is for you if, you’re already in New Zealand on an Entrepreneur Work Visa or another visa that allows self-employment, and you want to live in New Zealand on a permanent basis. If you’re granted this visa, you’ll be able to continue operating your business in New Zealand and stay here indefinitely.

Criteria you must meet:
• You must have been self-employed for at least 6 months.
• If you’re applying after less than 2 years of being self-employed, you’ll need to have invested capital of at least NZ $500,000 and have created 3 new jobs in New Zealand.

How long can I stay on this visa: Indefinitely

With this visa you can:
• Continue to operate your own business in New Zealand.
• Live, work and study in New Zealand indefinitely.

Work – If you’ve been operating your business for less than 2 years, you must keep working in your own business for 2 years.
The 2-year time period includes any time you’ve been working for yourself in New Zealand on an Entrepreneur Work Visa.

If you’re unable to continue working in your own business, you and your family may have to leave New Zealand.

Capital investment:

If you’ve been operating your business for less than 2 years, you must keep your nominated capital invested in your business for 2 years.

The 2-year time period includes any time you’ve been working for yourself in New Zealand on an Entrepreneur Work Visa.

If you’re unable to retain your capital investment, you and your family may have to leave New Zealand.

Travel:
You can travel in and out of New Zealand as many times as you like for 2 years. To travel after that, you’ll need to apply for a variation of conditions or a Permanent Resident Visa. If you’re outside of New Zealand when your travel conditions expire, your visa will expire as well.

Investor 2 Resident Visa

This visa is for you if, you’re an experienced business person who has at least NZ $1.5 million to invest in New Zealand over a 4-year period. You’ll need to be 65 or under, and show you have access to another NZ $1 million in settlement funds or assets. And every year quota 300 application every years.

If your Expression of Interest is successful we’ll offer you the opportunity to apply to live and work in New Zealand indefinitely.

Criteria you must meet

• You must submit an expression of interest (EOI). You’ll need to be able to claim at least 20 points in your EOI using our Investor 2 Category points system.

• You must have at least NZ $1.5 million to invest in New Zealand over a 4 year period, and an extra NZ $1 million to help you settle in New Zealand.

• You must have at least 3 years’ business experience.

• You must keep your nominated funds invested in an acceptable investment in New Zealand for 4 years.

• You must spend at least 146 days in each of the last 3 years of your 4-year investment period in New Zealand.

How long can I stay on this visa?

Indefinitely (if you meet the conditions of this visa). After this visa if you comply with the conditions of your visa, you may be eligible for permanent resident.

With this visa you can:
• Live, work and study in New Zealand.
• Bring your partner and dependent children.

Travel – You can travel in and out of New Zealand for the first 2 years of your investment period.
If you meet all of the conditions that apply to the first 2 years of your investment period, you can apply for a variation of conditions to allow you to travel in and out of New Zealand for another 2 years.
